Product Review: ONTEN 2.8Ft visible Flowing Current LED Blue light Micro USB Charger
Disclaimer: I provide honest reviews of products that I receive for free or at discounted rates.
The ONTEN 2.8Ft visible Flowing Current LED Blue light Micro USB Charger is a USB Type A to micro-USB charging and data sync cable with visible current flowing LED lights.
The LED lights on the cable are essentially the only real selling point here aside from the fact that it is a USB Type A to micro-USB cable, that being said however, the LED lights are really freaking cool. When the cable is plugged into a device, the LED lights pulsate to indicate that the device is charging and/or connected for data sync. When a device gets disconnected, the frequency of changes in the LEDs are dramatically reduced and will eventually shut off to prevent draining of power from the USB port.
The USB Type A connector side of the cable is a little large due to the LED controller housed in the plastic block at the end of the cable, but not so large that I was unable to fit two cables next to each other when plugging in multiple devices to adjacent USB ports.
The data transfer rates of the cable are comparable to USB standards based on whether you’re using a USB 1.1, or 2.0 port. The cable is not USB 3.0 compliant and does not achieve USB 3.0 transfer speeds, but did I mention that it looks really freaking cool??
If you’re looking for a USB charge cable that is a little out-of-the-ordinary while still being reasonably priced, I would recommend the ONTEN 2.8Ft visible Flowing Current LED Blue light Micro USB Charger, which also comes in Green, or Ultraviolet style Black LED colors.
