Product Review: Buddha Pendant Thai Amulet
Disclaimer: I provide honest reviews of products that I receive for free or at discounted rates.
The Buddha Pendant Thai Amulet is a white-gold style Buddha charm pendant for necklaces, key chains or charm bracelets. It has a clear plastic coating surrounding the Buddha in the middle and a silver-finished metal border.
The pendant weighs 15.5 gr (0.55 oz) and is a little over 4.5cm tall (1.75 in) and 2.5 cm wide (1 in). I honestly can’t tell if the pendant is made of silver, gold, or some cheap knock off material, primarily because of the plastic coating surrounding the Buddha, but the craftsmanship does look incredibly detailed and well produced.
I can honestly say that I wasn’t expecting the pendant to be covered in plastic at all. Whether the Buddha itself is made of silver, gold or some other expensive material, having the plastic coating around the pendant makes it feel somehow less-high quality. It feels cheaper than it should.
If you’re into Buddhism or Eastern Philosophical Religions, this pendant would be a good way to represent that without being too terribly intrusive or make you feel like you’re wearing a lead weight around your neck.
Is it worth the price? I don’t know. If it had some other more personal meaning to you, it probably would be, but I don’t think I would pay the asking price ($89.99) for it without some religious intent behind it.
