Product Review: Stand Able Universal Case with Fortune Tech Fold-Stand
Disclaimer: I provide reviews of products that I receive for free or at discounted rates.
The Stand Able Universal Case with Fortune Tech Fold-Stand is a well-crafted tablet sleeve made of faux-leather on the outside and a suede lining. The stitching is high-quality single stitched thread which should do a pretty good job of preventing the seams from coming apart over time.
The 9.7″ version of the sleeve fits my first generation iPad Air fairly well. There is a small amount of wiggle room, but not enough that it feels like the iPad would fall out of the case.
The only real downside to this sleeve is that I more-or-less have to not use it, or happen to only use it near a large enough flat surface, when I take my iPad out. Unlike other folio style cases, this case has no way of physically attaching your tablet when using it as a stand, and instead relies on a small flap of leather, combined with gravity, to hold your tablet in place.
As for it’s ability to protect your tablet, it’s fairly thin and lightweight, so I can’t imagine it doing any really phenomenal job of protecting the tablet from damage when dropped, or if something were to fall on it, but if you’re only worried about scratches or other cosmetic damage, it should do pretty well.
As for setting up the stand itself, because no instructions come with the case, I was forced to check the pictures on Amazon to see how the stand actually was supposed to fold up and be used. Once I had it figured out though, it actually does a pretty decent job of holding my iPad upright, at a pleasant viewing angle. The faux-leather exterior also seems to grip fairly well on smooth surfaces, which is an added bonus.
All-in-all though, I would say this is a decent product and the cost is reasonable for what you’re receiving. If you’re looking for a no-frills, stylish and functional tablet sleeve, you’re likely to get what you’re looking for here.
